Dayton Band Instrument Company 140 N. Main St

Robert R. Daugherty began a dealership/repair service called of Dayton Band in 1942 above the Victoria Theatre. In 1965, Dayton moved to 4523 N. Main Street. In 1973, Robert W. Daugherty succeeded Robert R. Daugherty. In 2001, they moved to 8500 N. Main Street. In 2018 now located at #42 E. National Rd, Vandalia.

Some extant DABICo horns, i.e. trumpets, are basically Schenkelaars stencils from the Netherlands - whether or not they were simply Schenkelaars parts assembled in the US, or arrived fully assembled, isn’t clear.
